PALOMINO GOLDĀ® is a world first supplement, formulated after many years of research trials on hundreds of Palominos and buckskins.
Which Horses Benefit
For all Palomino horses, especially show horses
Buckskins, Duns, Cremellos, Champagnes or any other dilute colour
Horses on white feed diets which are often deficient or lacking essential vitamins and trace-minerals for optimum health and vitality
White feed diets typically avoid added fats or oils and reduce protein, especially from lucerne hay or chaff. It is also recommended to eliminate most commercial complete feeds containing molasses, in order to reduce smutting. White feed diets are generally based on plain cereal grains (such as wheat bran, pollard or millrun), cereal chaff and hay (ie wheaten or oaten) and some grass hay.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Palomino GoldĀ® be used on Buckskins?
Yes. Many buckskin coloured horses were included in the trials and owners reported a uniform enriching of coat colour and condition, as compared to other supplements which they had used previously. Palomino GoldĀ® hightlighted the coloured points in the coat without darkening them excessively which can occur when excess trace-minerals, such as copper and iron, are supplemented.
How long will Palomino GoldĀ® take to ensure an optimum Palomino coat colour and condition for showing?
Normally, it will take 3-4 weeks to improve the coat colour to achieve a smut free coat, so it is recom mended that you plan to supplement with Palomino GoldĀ® for at least 1 month before a competitive show. In some horses it may take up to 6 weeks, depending on their previous dietary imbalances.
What pack sizes is Palomino GoldĀ® available in?
Palomino GoldĀ® is available in 1.4kg (35 x 40g daily doses for a 450-500kg show Palomino), and a 4kg pack
Do all Palomino horses have a risk of āsmuttingā?
Not every Palomino horse has the āsmuttingā gene and the risk of developing dark patches and colour variation in the coat. It is best to reduce the risk of āsmutā in the coat by careful feeding to avoid an excess of any single, or a combination of trace-minerals and vitamins which have been associated with āsmuttyā patches and coat colour variations.
Q. Which feeds have been found to incease the risk of āsmutā in a suspectible Palomino horse?
The coat colour with the distinctive mane and tail colouring, which is characteristic of Palomino horses, can develop dark āsmuttyā patches as a result of an excess intake of protein and oils (fats), as well as too much Vitamin A and trace-minerals, such as copper, iron and selenium in natural feeds or when added as a dietary supplement. A āwhiteā cereal based diet of grains, pollard or millrun (not rice bran as it contains a higher content of oil), cereal chaff, cereal hay or grass hay (no clover or lucerne blends) reduces the risk of dark patches (smut) and coat colour variations in Palominos of all ages. Protein meals, lucerne chaff or hay, sunflower seeds and molasses MUST be avoided.
